n The Beginning...
As an English major in college, I spent a great deal of time reading, mostly classics. Since my youth, I've enjoyed reading. Maybe I'm into escapism, maybe I just like a good story, maybe television isn't interesting and entertaining enuf to keep my attention for more than a few seconds. Whatever the reason, one of my main pleasures in life is reading a good story (and watching a good movie, but that's another story and another page ;). I had the greatest time with Medieval literature. We learned to speak Middle English in order to read the Canterbury Tales, we traced the development of the Arthur legend from his first mention on paper to Mallory's Le Morte d'Arthur, we read about the saints' lives and morality plays, learned about the French influence on British literature of the time. It was wonderful!

Most of the links below go to online versions of the work mentioned. When this is not the case, I will note it. By perusing the authors, works, and other interesting things below, you will find that you know more about me than you have ever wished to .. Proceed at your own risk! }grin{
